Samantha Davis, wife of Warwick Davis, had a very close call recently as she was struck down by a trio of potentially life-changing illnesses, sepsis, meningitis and strep-B. Sam and Warwick conducted an interview with ITV News to draw attention to the seriousness of these deadly illnesses, and to describe just how close a call it was.
Sammy Davis nearly died following a routine back operation at Addenbrooke’s hospital. She and her husband – the Star Wars and Harry Potter actor – have praised the work of doctors and nurses there who saved her.
Sepsis is a serious complication of an infection that can lead to multiple organ failure and death
-Early symptoms may include fever, or chills and shivering
-fast breathing
-slurred speech
If caught early though, the infection can be controlled by antibiotics.
