Well there’s a question and a half. Unlikely, given that he sold the company over five years ago, but then again he is a major Disney shareholder who has always kept an eye on the productions, visited the sets and made subtle suggestions (bringing Vader into the end of Spark of Rebellion, the Tank Trooper wearing his helmet on Rogue One).
News bubbled up last week that Lucas had made a couple of suggestions while on the set of Solo: A Star Wars Story, something that director Ron Howard decided to use. Nerdist look at the seemingly minor contribution and ask whether or not this could mean a return for the Maker.
We also found out last week George Lucas helped direct a scene when he visited the Solo set. Does this mean he hasn’t truly let go of his Star Wars baby? It’s hard to imagine, but maybe there’s a possibility of him returning to Star Wars in a more official capacity.
