If you’re able to get to the Prince Charles Cinema just off Leicester Square in London from 8th to 30th December, then you are in for an incredible time as not only have Disney allowed one of the UK’s greatest picturehouses to screen both the Prequel and Original Star Wars trilogies, but they’re being screened in glorious 4K.

A NEW HOPE
8th, 11th, 15th, 26th & 30th December

THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
26th & 30th December

RETURN OF THE JEDI
26th & 30th December

THE PHANTOM MENACE
Wednesday 27th December 11:20am

ATTACK OF THE CLONES
Wednesday 27th December 14:15

REVENGE OF THE SITH
Wednesday 27th December 17:15

This is not a test! Back in 2020, we accidentally got our wires crossed, and sent out a newsletter saying that we were showing George Lucas’ original 1977 sci-fi classic STAR WARS aka EPISODE IV aka A NEW HOPE. After the email went out to our followers, as well as corresponding social media posts, we realised our error. It was supposed to be 40th Anniversary screenings of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. It was still a huge deal, but we looked pretty silly and got a lot of hopes up.

Today, we are reminiscing about this bitter, yet funny, memory, as we assure you – this time it is the real deal! We got word from our pals at Park Circus, that Disney have opened a very limited window for us to show STAR WARS on the big screen. Not only are we showing A NEW HOPE, but we will also see screenings of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI, as well as Lucas’ prequel trilogy, THE PHANTOM MENACE, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, and REVENGE OF THE SITH. Of course, each of the original films will be showing from the latest Special Edition versions (You didn’t think they were going to sneak out the Theatrical Versions, did you?).

There will be no marathons, but we have allocated space to do back-to-back screenings of each Trilogy, so you can make your own marathons if you wish. A NEW HOPE will get the most action, playing on 8th, 11th and 15th December, as well as before THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI on 26th and 30th December. You can catch each film in the Prequel Trilogy showing back-to-back-to-back on 27th December. Tickets are sold separately for each performance.

As we stated in that 2020 newsletter: “It’s long been the White Whale to our Captain Ahab; but we’ve finally been able to net the beast!”

That statement is finally true! We don’t know when the last time all of these films last hit our screens (some, if ever), as the STAR WARS films have always been incredibly hard to come by. That’s why this is such a huge deal to us. For years, we’ve been saying to people who ask about why we don’t show Star Wars, “We would if we could”. Now, we can! For a very short amount of time…

Join us this December, as we venture into a galaxy far, far away with the original STAR WARS Trilogy and the Prequels. This is a very, very limited opportunity, so don’t let your chance to see these classics on the big screen at The Prince Charles Cinema slip you by! Tickets are now on sale to everyone…
