Star Wars Publishing Updates From SWCA 2022

A host of Star Wars literature and publishing panels were held across Star Wars Celebration, and we attempt to recap the main news below:

The Art of The High Republic

• Written by Kristin Baver and due for publication on 10th November 2022
• Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy wrote the foreword to the boo

The High Republic 2nd Phase Concept Art

• A new entry point for readers to the series
• New Characters
  • Chancellor Greylark from the core region but focuses on the expansion of the republic.  
  • Chancellor Mollo, a Quarren from the Outer Rim but is fixated on the Core.

• New Factions
  • The Pathfinders, Jedi and the Republic working together on exploration missions far out into the unexplored regions.

• • The Communications Team, they utilise droids to send messages along navigation routes, as there is no real time communication.

New Comics

• Hyperspace Stories, Dark Horse Comics new on-going comic series coming in August.

Tales from the Rancor Pit, a horror tale from Cavan Scott releasing in October for Halloween from Dark Horse Comics.

• The High Republic #1, a new-ongoing series starts in October from Cavan Scott and artist Ario Anindito

• The High Republic – The Blade, a mini-series from Charles Soule and artist Marco Castiello will release in November and run for four issues.

• The High Republic Adventures: The Nameless Terror, from George Mann, and artists Eduardo Mello and Ornella Savarese will come out later this year from Dark Horse Comics.

• Star Wars Visions, un “untold story” from the TV series to be published by Marvel.
• Yoda, a 10-issue comic series from Marvel.  Creative team will include Cavan Scott with Nico Leon, Jody Houser with Luke Ross, and Marc Guggenheim with Alessandro Miracolo – coming in October 2022.

Young Adult Novels

• The High Republic Quest for the Hidden City from George Mann (October 2022)

• Quest for Planet X by Tessa Gratton (Spring 2023)

  Stories of the Jedi and Sith, an exclusive Star Wars Celebration cover was released.

• Starlight Stories will collect the Starlight short stories published in Star Wars Insider and will be published in September.

Adult Novels

• The High Republic: Convergence from Zoraida Córdova (October 2022)

• Cataclysm by Lydia Kang (Spring 2023)

Audio Novels

• The Battle of Jedha by George Mann comes in January 2023 both as a script book, and audio.

Non-Fiction

• Star Wars Everyday: A Year of Activities, Recipes, and Crafts from a Galaxy Far, Far Away – coming in December

• Be More Obi-Wan: How to stay calm in a stressful galaxy – coming in July.

• Star Wars Timelines: From the Time Before the High Republic to the Fall of the First Order from Amy Richau, Cole Horton, Jason Fry, Kristin Baver and Clayton Sandell and out in November.

• Star Wars 100 Objects is based on the same concept as the BBC Radio series and book “A History of the World in 100 Objects”, this book by Kristin Baver is due in February 2023. 

• Chronicles of the Jedi an in-universe non-fiction book by Cole Horton set to include elements from Phase II and III of The High Republic.  It will be published in November.
