BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.
Official summary: An assassin strikes again, but this time the Jedi are there to attempt capture.
Trivia
Back in the days of The High Republic, Jedi Temples were scattered all over the galaxy like the one we see here on Olega. As per The Living Force novel, the Republic has been closing more and more of the Temple outposts in the years leading up to the Prequels.
The droid popping out is predecessor of Jabba’s TT-8L/Y7 gatekeeper droid. Unlike that one speaking Huttese, this one speaks binary. The Databank revealed that the one seen in this episode is TT-8L-OT.
Master Torbin floating while being in deep meditation is something we have seen from time to time before, it was recently something that was seen happening to Estala Maru, the Jedi head of operations aboard the Starlight Beacon in The High Republic.
Mae later mentions that this is part of Torbin taking the Barash Vow, which was first mentioned in the Darth Vader (2017) comics and was named after Jedi Master Barash Silvain, who was seen to start this practice in The High Republic, Phase II. When taking this vow, a Jedi refrained from all activities related to the Jedi Order and disengaged from anything but the Force itself. This was most often done as some sort of penance.
The Olega Master reporting the break-in, as well as the Olega Padawan who helps out are both unnamed in the episode and the end credits. Nick Court played the Master, Ed Kear was the Padawan.
While at this point we do not recognize the tattoo of Osha, it rings a vague bell as if we have seen it or something like it before. She explains it to Sol as something she got in CorpSec, which we explained in our previous Episode Guide.
Qimir mentions that “peace is….” with Mae finishing it with “ a lie, I know”. This is the very first line from the Sith Code.
And it is Yord who utters the famous “I have a bad feeling about this.” for this series.
The landspeeder driver that hits Mae as she is making her escape is an Abednedo, a species designed for The Force Awakens.
When Oshi fires the blaster, it seems she has it set to stun as those are the typical blue stun rings that come out of it.
On Khofar we see some Versimillipedes creeping around. They were seen before in Rogue One and Andor.
The Shyriiwook sign is saying ‘Keep Out’. This is the first time really that we saw Shyriiwook depicted with their own symbols. Earlier we have seen symbols that are basically poorly written Aurebesh signs, appear in Star Wars Galaxies in a Wookiee cave. The closest we have gotten to an actual Shyriiwook alphabet are barely glimpsed signs on consoles seen in the Kashyyyk levels of Republic Commando.
Filming locations from this episode as presented by GFFA Journeys:
Olega city streets – Shinfield Studios back lot. As previous city streets before (Theed at Leavesden, Ferrix at Little Marlow) this was done as a set on the back lot. By now however the set has been struck and the field restored to its original state. It used to stand on GPS coordinates: 51.412150, -0.929760
The Acolyte also used both Shinfield Studios and Pinewood Studios for their sets.
