A fascinating snippet of behind-the-scenes info arose recently as Emily Swallow, the actress behind the implacable Armorer in The Mandalorian, spoke about the inspiration for her beskar-forging scenes in the first season, taking its cue from a very familiar and logical source.

“When we were shooting [the armor crafting scene], Jon…wanted them to have the same feel as the sequences in Iron Man…I knew I was in good hands because that was just so exciting…when he’s making his armor.”

That suit-forging scene in the 2008 Iron Man became instantly iconic, so a good moment to parallel as Favreau used every trick to bed in the world the Mando inhabits.
