With The Book of Boba Fett heading towards us faster than a free-falling Firespray, Hasbro very kindly sent us this stunning Hasbro The Black Series Boba Fett Re-Armored Electronic Helmet to review, and we’re glad to report that it doesn’t disappoint.
Once regarded as one of the most fearsome and capable bounty hunters in the galaxy, Boba Fett seemingly met his demise in the Sarlacc pit on Tatooine. Fett has survived the beast and has now reclaimed his distinctive Mandalorian armor.
Commemorate the live-action return of fan-favorite character Boba Fett with The Black Series Boba Fett (Re-Armored) Premium Electronic Helmet, inspired by the streaming series The Mandalorian on Disney+!
This roleplay item with premium deco, realistic detail, and series-inspired design is a great addition to any Star Wars fan’s collection.
Featuring a flip-down rangefinder with flashing LED lights and an illuminated heads-up display (HUD), fans can imagine what it was like for the famous bounty hunter to reclaim his iconic armor and suit up for galactic action alongside The Mandalorian, Fennec Shand, and a galaxy of adventurers!
From all angles, this really does look the part, and it’s worth remembering that this is the re-armoured version of the helmet, matching its appearance in the second season of The Mandalorian. There’s sure to be future releases of this helmet, as there have been in the past. You could argue that this lid has as illustrious a history as any piece of kit in the Star Wars story, from the arena of Geonosis to the gut of the sarlacc. Where it goes next, we’ll learn on 29th December.
As pretty as this undoubtedly is, there’s other very cool elements to the helmet. A press of the button on the right side flips the viewfinder down, and after slotting in one AAA battery into the side of the helmet, the edge of the viewfinder lights up red (and as the image below shows, it looks great). Get in the right position and the illuminated heads-up display (HUD) gives even more immersion into what wearing the helmet might feel like.
Not only is it large enough for my melon of a head, but the adjustable straps inside means it can snugly fit heads of all sizes, while the comfortable padding inside makes keeping it on for extended periods no trouble at all.
Hats off (pun intended) to Hasbro for this release. Sure, it’s another use of that mold, having come out in previous versions including the classic and white version, but for completists and collectors this is another addition to a great line of helmets that satisfy the desire for accuracy but also for playability.
We’ll be discussing the helmet on our Christmas episode of Good Morning Tatooine, which lands tomorrow at 9.00pm UK time on Facebook and YouTube.
