The final chapter in this four-part series begins as Ben Solo stops the masked Ren from killing a local by using a variation on the Jedi mind trick.

Ben discovers the location of an artefact that Ren has been searching for – just three levels down.

Ren is impressed by Solo’s powers, but murders a group of locals with the help of his knights. Ben can’t believe what he has witnessed, his memory lingering on a teaching from Snoke who had explained that the Knights of Ren did not suffer from the strict code of the Jedi – freeing them up to do as they please.

Three levels down and the artefact is being protected by another group and Ben knows that to gain the trust of Ren he must help the knights to vanquish the protectors.

Just then, Ben’s former Jedi companions Tai and Voe leap into action having traced young Solo’s location.

As Tai and Ben battle, Ren commands his knights to kill Voe. Tai pleads with Ben to stay with the Jedi order, but Ben is being manipulated by unseen forces – including the resurrected Palpatine from his sanctuary on Exegol. Although Ren claims it, I believe Ben snaps his old friend’s neck using the Force and takes his lightsaber. Now wielding two blue bladed sabres, Ben attacks Ren who taunts him throughout their duel.

Voe continues to battle the Knights of Ren as Ben battles with their masked leader. Eventually, aided by Palpatine through The Force, Solo defeats Ren, taking his red bladed lightsaber and killing Voe.

In doing so he inherits the Knights of Ren and joins them on their ship. Here he is seen working on a new sabre, it’s red blade fizzles out due to being unstable. He adds the now famous crossguard ports to gain stability in the blade. It works. Through The Force Palpatine asks what Ben’s new name is….. Kylo Ren is born.

It’s a great conclusion to the four-part arc. Exegol and Palpatine featuring towards its close gave it a connection to The Rise of Skywalker which was cool. Ben Solo’s fall to the dark side is dealt with in a believable storyline that also fleshes out Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Training Academy and the relationship with Snoke.
