One of the treats of The Last Jedi was seeing Master Yoda once again, not as (an admittedly excellent) CGI creation but as a puppet for the first time since The Phantom Menace back in 1999.

Now, Nick Maley, one of the original Yoda crew from The Empire Strikes Back working under the legendary Stuart Freeborn, gives us some insider knowledge on how to recreate the Jedi Master – including the infamous lip extension, which changed the look of the puppet from the designs – to look as he did back in the original trilogy.

The most detailed information about accurately re-sculpting Yoda that you will ever find. Veteran creature FX designer Nick Maley, who was part of the original Yoda crew, discusses the intricacies of recreating our favorite alien.

A must for intelligent Star Wars fans. A topic for your Star Wars chat.
