There’s been plenty of excitement in the brick world regarding the announcement last week of LEGO SMART Play, the revolutionary new addition to the world of LEGO that will add even more to the LEGO experience, but via Jays Brick Blog we learn that the new expression will initially be available in only six countries around the globe.

LEGO Smart Bricks and LEGO Smart Play will be released on 1 March 2026 only for customers in the US, UK, France, Germany, Poland and Australia.

Pre-orders are open now from LEGO.com but this has left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, and I wouldn’t recommend pre-ordering until you at least try the Smart Bricks out in-store.

The sets are available now to pre-order, and hitting stores in those six countries on 1st March:

75421 SMART Play: Darth Vader’s TIE Fighter – US$69.99 / AU$99.99 / £59.99 / €69.99
75423 SMART Play: Luke’s Red Five X-wing – US$99.99 / AU$149.99 / £79.99 / €89.99
75427 SMART Play: Throne Room Duel & A-wing – US$159.99 / AU$250.99 / £139.99 / €159.99
