Take a closer look at the new Citizen CA0857-09W, designed to tie-in with May 22nd’s The Mandalorian and Grogu and comoing hot on the heels of their recent Boba Fett-inspired Eco-Drive model. Loaded with easter eggs and details, as well as glowing in the dark, there’s no news on release date or cost quite yet, but what wrist isn’t going to want to be captured by this captivating chronograph?
Though the overall look resembles a classic pilot’s chronograph, the watch has some themed sub-dials that pay direct tribute to The Mandalorian series. The upper sub-dial features the Mudhorn symbol, referencing the creature that the titular hero defeats in the show, while the low one displays his helmet artwork.
Across the design, there are small Grogu ears, such as on the left-most sub-dial, and the caseback is engraved with the phrase, ‘This Is The Way’. The watch also has luminous hands and markers that mean it’s still usable in lower light settings.
Though it’s usable in the dark, CA0857-09W thrives in light, thanks to the Eco-Drive chronograph movement, which means that you can rely on good, old sustainable solar power to keep it charged, and you won’t need to worry about replacing the battery.
