We’re not too keen on seeing them ‘screw up’ either, but from what we’ve seen so far, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order looks like it’s going to be an immersive and engaging entry into the Star Wars canon, taking us on a journey not long after the events of Revenge of the Sith as the foot comes down on the throat of the Jedi Order.
Speaking to Radio 1 Newsbeat, Vince Zampella from Respawn Entertainment made clear the pressure him and his team are under.
“We don’t want to screw it up. We have a chance to do something in a universe that we all grew up loving.”
It’s an understandable feeling, given the recent misfires that include Star Wars: 1313 and Project Ragtag from Visceral Studios which was pulled in 2017. Zampella claimed to not know too much about those games, but detailed why he believes Fallen Order will succeed.
“I don’t know the other games. I don’t know what the issue was. So I can’t speak to it. One of the first things we talked about was doing a Star Wars game. It took us a little while to get there. But finally we got our chance at it and we’re driving to make it.”
And now he’s out there in the wider galaxy of Star Wars characters, we might get to see more of central character Cal Kestis.
“He’s now a Jedi in the Star Wars databank. So I mean, his story will continue to go on.”
