Kay Oyegun Signs Overall Deal With 20th Century Fox TV

Kay Oyegun, whom is working on the script for Children of Blood and Bone, a fantasy film based on bestselling novel of the same name by Tomi Adeyemi for Lucasfilm, has signed an exclusive deal with 20th Century Fox TV.

Nigerian producer and writer for This Is Us, Kay Oyegun, has signed a very important deal with 20th Century Fox TV, the studio that produced the series. Deadline reports that the Nigerian has been working on This Is Us since the series began, doing so as a staff writer before she rose to be a producer-writer. In the studio’s statement on the deal, it praised Oyegun’s brilliance and how her creativity has taken the series to what it presently is.

Carolyn Cassidy, 20th Century Fox Television president of creative affairs said they are very much interested in working with her and hopes she keeps bringing “bold ideas” to make the series greater.

“We feel very fortunate to continue our relationship with Kay who has played a pivotal role in the This Is Us writers room since day one and has written some of the most memorable episodes including ‘R&B’, and this season’s ‘The Dinner And The Date’ “It was evident very early to all of us at 20th that Kay was someone we wanted to be in business with for a long time. We are very pleased to have her continue to tell beautiful stories on This Is Us while also bringing us new bold ideas,” it said.
