Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge – Echoes of the Empire (2026) #4

BAD DAY AT BLACK SPIRE

After the fall of the Empire, a fragile calm has descended on Black Spire Outpost.

Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa have returned to fulfill a promise.

But when Han Solo arrives with them on a planet teeming with bounty hunters and assassins, chaos isn’t far behind….

Writer: Ethan Sacks
Artists: Roi Mercado, Jethro Morales
Letterer: Clayton Cowles
Colorist: Rachelle Rosenberg
Cover artist: Phil Noto
Editor: Mark Pannicia
Publication date: July 15 2026

Is Oga about to show her true colors to Rey, or to surprise the Resistance with a show of support? Regardless, the cantina owner continues to share older tales of Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and Chewbacca at Back Spire Outpost—this time with Han Solo after the Empire has been defeated.

The funny thing about Solo is that he always appears to have enemies after him, and this story is no different. He loves the fresh air of the outpost, but that is before he knows that Harkos, a Nikto bounty hunter known to frequent Oga’s Cantina, is after him.

A bonus in this issue is an exchange between Chewbacca and the dockmaster, Hondo Ohnaka, as more history of Galaxy’s Edge and its deep ties to Star Wars lore officially unfolds to legitimize aspects of the amusement park. The name and location dropping continues as Leia suggests Threepio and R2-D2 visit Mubo’s Droid Depot and reminds Luke she is here to keep a promise to Savi. Han looks forward to a drink at Oga’s but also offers another surprise. He calls for a flat meat fry from Hugo Durant, the Ardennian fry cook, who, to this point, has only appeared on Shakari during The Mandalorian and Grogu film.

Solo is Solo throughout this story. He enjoys the opportunity to steal a speeder and reminisce about his days racing on Corellia, while stuck in a tough spot with a gang of bounty hunters on his tail. He sneaks out of them, usually thanks to Chewbacca. He also serves up his charming one-liners and “scoundrelly” side comments and distractions to buy time, all while Luke and Leia decide they don’t need to step in.

But someone else does step in, at least on Oga and Rey, in the current day. And we’ll learn more about that sticky situation in the mini-series finale next month.
