Former Skywalker Sound employee Marilyn Morris has joined the new sound post house, Waterman Sound.

A partnership between supervising sound editor Joe Schultz and Vortechs owner James Longeretta has established Waterman Sound, a new sound post house in Toluca Lake, CA, with facilities for sound design, editing and mixing and ADR for television and features.

ADR mixer Marilyn Morris, a Skywalker Sound veteran who was most recently at Dubbing Brothers in Burbank, will run the new facility’s ADR stage.

The operation includes a 17-by-31-foot mix stage with a dual-operator Avid S6 console, Pro Tools HDX systems, and JBL 7.1 monitoring, along with an ADR stage that accommodates up to eight voice artists and two Pro Tools sound editing rooms. Dolby Atmos Home Theatre certification for the main mix stage is pending, Waterman Sound said.

The company said it will target both scripted and unscripted TV series as well as independent feature films. It will be able to offer end-to-end post-production service packages thanks to a cooperative relationship with Vortechs, which has 40 editing rooms in the same Riverside Drive building, as well as post facility The Foundation, located near the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank less than a mile away.
