EA keen to do more Star Wars games: “We want to double-down on that partnership”

With Star Wars: Squadrons on the way and Star Wars: The Old Republic, the Star Wars: Battlefront series, Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes all hits, EA CEO Andrew Wilson revealed that the company are keen to work more closely with Disney to bring new Star Wars games to market.

The company held a fireside chat webinar with investors this week (via Gamespot). During the conference, Wilson alluded to the financial success of the modern Star Wars: Battlefront series, Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the mobile game Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes as part of his reasoning for further commitment to the licence. “We’re going to double down on that partnership,” Wilson explains. “Disney continues to be very very committed to the IP and to the canon.”

Wilson sees strong opportunity in the future of the partnership as new fans connect with the Star Wars franchise. “We’ve got new generations [of fans] coming to the IP all the time,” Wilson adds. “So our expectation is we think there continues to be a really really strong opportunity in an around that relationship and that IP going forward.”
