As we get ever closer to the production beginning on the Obi-Wan Kenobi limited series on Disney Plus, rumours continue – and will continue no doubt – to swirl, including one originating at Kessel Run Transmissions that claims the show will be set in two distinct time periods – the ‘present’ – the years on Tatooine while Ben Kenobi looked over a young Luke Skywalker – and a period between the height of the Clone Wars conflict and the beginning of the dark times as Jedi are hunted down and the search for Kenobi begins.

According to the team at Kessel Run Transmissions, the show is going to go back and forth between the height of the Clone Wars and at some point near the start of the Dark Times following Order 66 and the formation of the Galactic Empire. For the former time period, Obi-Wan (Ewan McGregor) will run into the likes of Commander Cody (Temuera Morrison) and Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen); all three characters will have the attire that they wear in The Clone Wars animated series. For the latter, it’s not clear if Cody will be appearing, but Darth Vader will.

As ever, there’s nothing concrete here, and until Lucasfilm post it on the official site it remains a rumour but it would certainly be fascinating to see the Kenobi show hop between these time periods as the importance of the fall of the Republic and the Jedi has great bearing on the present as Kenobi stays low watching over Luke until such a time as circumstances dictate he will join the battle against the dark side.
