Two years ago yesterday, on 23rd September 2018, the galaxy lost Gary Kurtz. Already in a hugely successful working relationship after the incredible success of American Graffiti, Kurtz made George Lucas’ dreams of bringing his galaxy far, far away into reality, bringing A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back to the screen before moving on to The Dark Crystal, Return to Oz, Slipstream and more.

Our friends at the Kurtz Joiner Archive remembered the great man on the anniversary of his passing.
