Forest Renewal is Necessary

With 7.8 billion people currently living worldwide, forests have very few spaces left to merge with people’s lives. People from around the globe play casinos with no deposit bonus, and earn lots of money through other different types of works. But, if at least 2% of the population could contribute to the renewal of forests, by 2030, nature could be brought back to its natural course.  Forests are getting destroyed, and it is high time that people start taking the issue seriously because this could have a lot of adverse effects on the environment and could potentially bring doomsday to the next generation of people. Forest renewal is the first step towards a more extraordinary revolution of a greener earth. Let us now understand how forest renewal could potentially come into effect.

Renewal of forests through natural regeneration

Forest regeneration is considered a vital factor for sustainable forestry. Renewal of forests could be achieved by two methods – Natural regeneration and artificial regeneration. Natural regeneration is associated with a process where seedlings from trees naturally fall off to the ground after the tree dies due to natural disasters (forest fire, insect infestations, diseases) or artificial disasters (harvesting, artificial forest fires). These seedlings find their way underground and start to grow naturally.  The seedlings are often seeds from fruits or flowers that generally grow during the spring season. If fruits or flowers fall on the sustainable ground for growth, after the tree dies, these seedlings will regain their place in the cycle with time. Natural regeneration can take a significant amount of time when compared to artificial regeneration.

Renewal of forests through artificial regeneration

The process associated with the revival of forest crops by sowing, planting and other artificial methods is called artificial regeneration. When compared to natural regeneration, artificial regeneration is quicker and easy. Since it is a rapidly quick process, there is less chance of hazards or any other risk factor. Some of the other advantages of artificial regeneration are as follows:

  • Artificial regeneration is a quick process.
  • The stocking is more even compared to natural regeneration.
  • Rapid early growth of plants and minimal risk of weeds.
  • Maintaining and supervising artificial regeneration is considered easy.
  • Though it is an expensive method, the end results are satisfying.

Artificial regeneration can be a vital factor in reducing soil erosion. They also highly contribute to restoring the wildlife habitat and providing an excellent value for the land. Before a land could be used for any type of regeneration, it is critical to consider the place’s climate. According to the climate, specified species of seeds should be used to obtain the full potential of artificial regeneration. Also, the soil in which the plantation is made matters as different vegetations grow on different soil grounds.

Conclusion

Whether it is a natural regeneration of the forest or an artificial regeneration, it is mandatory to restore the ecosystem that we humans have been destroying for ages. At this rate, the next generation of people would face a lot of adverse effects with an unbalanced ecosystem.
