It has been quite some time since the conclusion of the third cinematic trilogy in the Star Wars universe. It seems the story has stalled. Comics and series do not advance the plot but rather revolve around past events, featuring the same characters over and over again, hence their limited success.
Thus, Lucasfilm faces the primary task: to find a worthy story and create a new trilogy. There are many rumours about its content, but the main focus remains on Rey Skywalker. Whether we like it or not, we all will have to live with this character for at least the next decade, as she is the last real Jedi trained by a master.
But what will Rey do next?
Luke, Leia, and Kylo Ren have become one with the Force; her grandfather, Palpatine, has once again lost his physical form. The war with the Yuuzhan Vong seems to have ended, although it was never mentioned in the films. Boba Fett and Han Solo have also left this world.
It’s time for new, young heroes. Here are three new stories I’ve concocted for the saga’s continuation.
Story One: The other Boy Who Survived
Casinos exist in all worlds, be it Earth, in the United Kingdom with places like Wild Wild casino, or at Canto Bight on the planet Cantonica, which, as we remember, hosted a casino on a planetary scale. Our first story begins here.
After the battle on Exegol, Rey Skywalker, like her mentor Luke Skywalker before her, felt the need to revive the Jedi Order. She decided to establish her Jedi Academy on the island of Ahch-To, where Luke’s first Academy once stood. One of Rey’s first students is Temiri Blagg, the broom boy from Canto Bight, whom we saw in “The Last Jedi.”
During his training, Temiri shows an extraordinary talent for manipulating the Force, but not in the way other Jedi do. His ability to manipulate objects allows him not just to control small items, but entire planetary systems.
He gains the ability to move between worlds, and in some alternate universe, his mastery in flying with his beloved broom comes in handy in a local game of Quidditch… Stop. That’s another story. Back to our fandom.
“The Sweeper” Temiri becomes one of the first graduates of the Academy, and his ability to manipulate time and space helps Rey and her students defeat numerous alien adversaries. No mention of a blue police box!
However, this also attracts the attention of the remnants of the First Order, who see potential in Temiri for their own purposes. This leads to numerous attacks on the Academy, where Rey and her students must constantly fight for survival, with Temiri becoming a symbol of hope and resistance.
Theory Two: The Return of the Sith from the Darkness
After Palpatine’s destruction, many believed the Sith were gone for good. However, deep in space, on a remote planet untouched by war, a new Sith Lord emerges – Darth Malifus. In his youth, he was a servant to the revived clone of Palpatine, always lurking in the shadows, preparing for the moment to reveal himself, being Force-sensitive and capable of learning.
When the Emperor fell, the boy understood he was now the chief Sith and discovered the ruins of a temple on Malachor. There, he accessed a secret repository of knowledge, learning great Sith teachings, after which he became a Master and took the name Malifus. He found himself an apprentice and recruits fighters from the remnants of the First Order.
His primary target is Rey Skywalker, whom he sees as the greatest threat to the Sith’s revival. Darth Malifus employs new forms of the dark side of the Force, forcing Rey to confront her inner demons and the temptations of the dark side. In this struggle, an unexpected ally emerges in Finn, who, it turns out, not only has potential in the Force but also a deep understanding of the dark side due to his upbringing in the First Order. Finn helps Rey not only in combat but also in understanding the balance between light and dark, allowing her to find new ways to oppose Malifus.
Moreover, it’s revealed that Malifus was the source of genetic material for Palpatine’s revival, making him and Rey literally relatives, which unexpectedly reshuffles the deck, forcing all participants to make unusual compromises.
Theory Three: Alliance with an Unlikely Ally
In this theory, Rey faces a new threat – not from the Sith, but from a mysterious alien race known as the Ursians, who possess technologies surpassing anything known in the Galaxy. They intend to eradicate all forms of the Force, deeming it dangerous to cosmic order.
The main antagonist is the Ursian leader, Velox, who sees Rey as the greatest threat due to her power and connection to the Force. Ursian scientists have developed a technology that influences midi-chlorians, neutralising both the Light and Dark sides of the Force through nanobots that spread like a virus in the blood.
Distribution centres are large enterprises, shipyards, and mines with millions of workers, as well as entertainment centres that have reached planetary scale. Fortunately, Earth and its British online casinos, like Wild Wild casino, remain safe from infection, thanks to their robust data protection protocols.
Rey and her students from the Jedi Academy are also infected, rapidly losing their powers. This quickly becomes known, and without the threat of Jedi, various villains and criminals begin fighting for criminal control, leading to chaos.
However, an unexpected ally for Rey turns out to be Kylo Ren, who, despite being destroyed, left a shadow in the Force. Since Rey had telepathic communication with Kylo, part of his mind and knowledge of the dark side remained in her subconscious. This shadow, or spirit, or whatever remnant of his presence, helps Rey uncover the Ursians’ secrets and weaknesses. Together, they discover a new form of the Force, immune to the Ursian nanites.
Kylo, as an ally, gives Rey the chance not only to confront Velox but also to understand that even the darkest souls can find a path to light or, at least, to redemption. Meanwhile, an epic battle with the Ursians begins, where Rey and Kylo in her mind must choose between preserving the Force and making peace with the new enemies.
What kind of story will be preferred?
As we can see, there aren’t many plot options for the development of the Star Wars universe. If I could easily come up with three scenarios in an hour, so can Disney’s screenwriters. But will they be successful?
In our opinion, we need to discard everything we know about this far, far away Galaxy, get rid of the obsessive fan service, and start the story from scratch. About a girl or a boy from a distant planet… Hasn’t that been done already?
Well, it worked with Ezra, didn’t it?
Now it’s your turn. Suggest your stories.
