The man behind the music of Star Wars and Indiana Jones, along with almost every Steven Spielberg film and many classics besides John Williams is to be given an honorary Knighthood in one of the final awards approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II. He is joined by former Disney chief executive Bob Iger.

Star Wars composer John Williams has been awarded an honorary knighthood in one of the final awards approved by the Queen before she died this month. The American created music for countless blockbuster films which also include Jaws, two Jurassic Park movies and three Harry Potter films.

His award for services to film music was included in a list of honorary awards for foreign nationals that was updated last night. It was approved by Her Late Majesty.

Former Disney chief executive Robert Iger, 71, has also been awarded an honorary KBE for services to UK-US relations.

Long overdue for both, Williams continues to dazzle with music coming our way from Indiana Jones 5.
