From Regal Robot, their forthcoming Weequay Concept Maquette Replica – Signature & Numbered Editions that feature the signature of Ken Ralston and which are available from Tuesday 27th September at noon EST, 5.00pm UK time.

Regal Robot is expanding their Star Wars™ Archive Collection of props scanned from the original artifacts with this new Weequay™ Concept Maquette Replica. It’s a bit of a big-brother to their Max Rebo Maquette Replica, which are now shipping.

Multi-Oscar award winning VFX Supervisor, Ken Ralston, sculpted concept maquette for this stoic and mysterious alien character from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™. Regal Robot team had hands-on access to that original maquette (called “Queequeg” during production), allowing them to craft the most faithful replica possible.

Each approximately 7″ tall (including the wood display base) bust is cast in heavy polyurethane resin. 100% made in the U.S.A., every replica in this edition is meticulously hand painted, with hand-applied hair, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films!

Available in two extremely limited editions, each replica includes a hand-numbered plaque. A 250 piece numbered edition will be made, and just 100 pieces of the Kan Ralston signature edition will be produced.

Glimpsed in prototype form by attendees at Star Wars Celebration, fans can reserve their Weequay Concept Maquette Replicas on September 27th at Noon EST.

The Regal Robot gang also caught up with Ralston to discuss his career, and below are three edits of the interview – short, a Star Wars focused edit and the full chat.

SHORT:
Weequay discussion only

MEDIUM:
Star Wars discussion only

EXTENDED:
A full hour (!) of talking about Ken’s work, FX and inspiration
