From the gang at Regal Robot, here’s a real doozy, a deep, deep, deep cut that not only reveals a creature moany will have never spotted or seen before from Return of the Jedi, but it’s creator – will be familiar to many without even realising it. Known for his work with The Muppets, Kirk Thatcher appeared as the infamous ‘Punk on Bus’ in the 1986 classic Star Trek IV – The Voyage Home, but before that he worked in the ILM creature shop on Jedi, and now we can see the fruits of his labour – the Apple Slug, seen only as a maquette and now brought back to life by the artisans at Regal Robot.

It’s available to pre-order from noon eastern (that’s 5.00pm UK time) with the Signature Edition priced at $449 and the Legacy Edition $749. There’s a special special up-to-6-Month Payment Plan (with adjustable down payment and term options) – remember, Regal products are available only in the States – but however you do business, this is one crazy denizen of Jabba’s Palace that you simply have to bring home.

The latest addition to our Star Wars™ Archive Collection arrives Tuesday 6/2! Sculpted by prolific writer, director and creature maker, Kirk Thatcher, this full-body character sculpt is certainly one of the most unique in our line of scanned-from-the-original replica artifacts.

Eventually known as Apple Slug, Thatcher’s wild concept has achieved a bit of a mythical status among super-fans and behind-the-scenes lovers. Originally intended to be a creature that lurked the halls of Jabba the Hutt’s palace, the 4-armed alien was ultimately unused in the film, and normally would’ve been lost to time, but since 1983, it has appeared in behind the scenes books, museum exhibitions and even featured prominently on a famous magazine cover.

These new editions are part of our work creating authentic replicas with impeccable lineage. We work directly with the original artifacts in the famed prop archives to give fans something truly special! With high resolution 3D scanning and hand paint, our team crafted a faithful recreation of this early concept for Star Wars: Return of the Jedi™, right down to the stem on the “apple.”

Available in two editions!

The Signature Edition of 100 pieces includes a plaque signed by creature maker, Kirk Thatcher, who sculpted this early concept during the production of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.

The extremely limited Legacy Edition of just 83 pieces goes beyond a signature edition to provide each owner with a truly unique work-of-art. Each maquette in this Legacy Edition will include a one-of-a-kind color illustration of this character, hand-drawn by Thatcher.

At approximately 6.5″ tall (including the wood display base), each resin maquette features removable magnetic arms for safe shipping and is meticulously hand painted in many layers, all done by the artists in our New York studio, making each a unique tribute to the artistry involved behind the scenes of our favorite films! They even include a glossy trail of “slime” on the base like the original maquette!

Best of all, our artists are already working on the first waves of production of these replicas and we expect paid-in-full orders to ship within just a few weeks!

Do not miss this extraordinary opportunity to bring home not just an authentic replica, scanned from the original artifact, but also an original work of art with a direct connection to the artists that inspire us!

The Signature Edition is priced at $449 and the Legacy Edition $749. Take advantage of our Special up-to-6-Month Payment Plan (with adjustable down payment and term options)
