We’ve yet to see the fruits of his labours on the first batch of Obi-Wan Kenobi episodes, but Ewan McGregor has made it very clear that should the opportunity arise, he’d be more than willing to step back into the role of Kenobi if another project came along. Speaking with Total Film magazine, his satisfaction with the 6 part special event series was evident, especially when asked whether he would consider a return to the role at a later time.

“If we were to get an opportunity to do it again, I’d be totally up for that. Here I go again. It’s like me knocking at Disney’s door again!”

It also seems clear that the experience of filming in Stagecraft is preferable to the arduous task of acting in front of swathes of greenscreen, not to mention the great job he feels Joby Harold and Deborah Chow have done.

“It was nice to come back and to bridge that gap between me and Alec Guinness. I got as much, or more, out of playing him this time than I did in the first three movies put together. That’s to do with the writing, and the people we were making the series with, and the technology, and how different everything is.”

Obi-Wan Kenobi arrives on Disney Plus on Friday 27th May with two episodes, and continues afterwards on Wednesdays.
