He might not have won Best Actor in a Drama Series at the Golden Globes, but it did give Diego Luna the opportunity to represent a show that, despite the criminal lack of nominations across the acting categories during awards season, will always be a winner in this dojo. With well over a decade of involvement in the Star Wars galaxy behind him, Luna was keen to recognise his fellow cast members.
“This is the end … I’m really happy to be representing the show tonight, all the actors that should’ve been nominated. It’s a wonderful cast, and I’m here to say goodbye. It’s been 10 years of my life.”
With luck we’ll continue to see Diego at Star Wars events over the coming years – and there’s always the chance to play his own son in either the Starfighter era (where his son would be 39) or the Dawn of the Jedi era (where the character would be 49). Either way – if Luna and Lucasfilm wanted it – there could be a backdoor path to keeping this wonderful and passionate actor around and very much involved.
