BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.
Official summary: The heroes race to prevent Grand Admiral Thrawn’s escape.
Trivia
The title seems to be a nod to Narnia’s The Lion, The Witch and the Wardobe. Especially since both the Warlord and the Wardrobe make a connection between two worlds/galaxies.
The Gift of Shadows is new.
Majiks, as spelled in the subtitles, is a differently spelled form of magicks.
The Witches conjure the Blade of Talzin out of ichor. This happened before in The Clone Wars 6×09 The Disappeared, Part II, in which Mother Talzin used the blade to fight Mace Windu with. There it also had green flames and it was resistant to lightsaber blades, but the hilt looked very different.
It turns out that Caleb Dune, also known to us as Kanan Jarrus and Ezra’s old master, was also instructed by Huyang to build his lightsaber.
Ezra wonders out loud what Huyang’s age is, which is something we know thanks to Star Wars: Timelines. The guide reveals that the droid was activated around 25.020 BBY. Which means he has been around since the very beginning of calculated history in Star Wars.
Ezra builds a new lightsaber, his third one. The hilt resembles the second one a lot, but has notable differences. The most obvious of these is the new blade emitter, one that indeed resembles the one that Kanan’s lightsaber had, just as Huyang tells Ezra. He is also back to having a blue blade, like his first lightsaber had, rather than the green of the second lightsaber.
Assumed but now confirmed: Sabine indeed lost her family to Moff Gideon’s purge of Mandalore.
Anakin standing by Ahsoka when no one else did was especially true when she was on trial and suspected of the bombing of the Jedi Temple, as seen in The Clone Wars, and which led to her leaving the Jedi Order.
When Ahsoka asks Sabine if she kept up with her training she says she tried, before correcting herself by saying “I do”. It seems somebody learned Yoda’s lesson about that there is not try.
Trust in the Force was also what Lyra told young Jyn in Rogue One.
Red stripes markings, on the TIE Fighter’s helmet could mean that this pilot is a Baron Of The Empire. But considering the state of the troopers of Thrawn, it could be also that he has allowed for such personifications.
The End Credits erroneously list this as a TIE Defender, with its pilot performed by Casey Adams, who has been around as a stunt performer for many of the Star Wars series.
Engine sputtering is the same sound effect used for the Millennium Falcon’s engines sputtering.
While this may have been new for Ezra, it is not new for us viewers. The Chant of Resurrection that the Grand Mothers use to resurrect the death was seen before in The Clone Wars with old Daka using it to reanimate the dead in defense against General Grievous.
One of the stormtroopers, the one that Ezra steals the armor from, is identified as LS-757. This is not the first time we have seen this stormtrooper, as he was also present in Rebels during the attack on Lothal in the final episodes of the series.
While discussing themes of the various series and characters the term Ronin is often used. Now we all know that there is also an episode of Visions with that name, but it has also been seen before in canon with Sarco Plank being called a Melitto ronin in The Weapon of a Jedi: A Luke Skywalker Adventure.
At long last, Morai appears.
Baylan appears to have explored more of the planet and can be seen standing on the hands of a statue. This is the Father, with the Son appearing also as a statue next to him from the Mortis arc of The Clone Wars. It appears that the Daughter’s statue at the Father’s right side is destroyed.
And talking about that Mortis arc, Baylan looks into the distance and looks at something that appears to look a lot like the Mortis Monastry…
