Sad news as the man behind the packaging of the Palitoy Death Star and so many other great toys has passed away. Dave Barnacle was a noted designer and artist who provided artwork for the Action Man, Action Force, Pippa and Tiny Tears ranges amongst others, but that iconic image of Dave’s son ‘young Dave’ playing with the Death Star will forever be inprinted in the minds of UK collectors. His great friend Bob Brechin remembers Dave, posted here by Dave Tree of Farthest From, and also remembered in a video memorial by Analog Toys.
