The Black Series Wishlist: Part Two

The time has come again for fans to start creating their Black Series wishlists for next year, and just maybe these are the figures you want to have. I don’t collect the toys as much as some people do, but I do like to speculate, and again many of my choices are from comics, books, Legends and long-forgotten characters. I couldn’t help myself, so I created another list since I had more ideas.

Dellen Aphra, AKA Aerna (Doctor Aphra’s sister)
The previously unknown sister to Doctor Chelli Aphra, CHAOS agent! Dellen was introduced in the final issue of the latest series, and appears to be just as good with slicing and droids as Chelli is. Plus she has double the electro-tattoos on her arms. Short blonde hair and a purple jacket, maybe the Gonk droid called Stripes to go along with her!

Corlis Rath (Jedi Knights comic)
The ninja to the Jedi samurai! His armor and multiple weapons are really unique to the comics but his unarmored, younger form is also very interesting – deadly but oddly vulnerable.

Atha Prime (Jedi Knights comic)
An original action figure character that was supposed to be the big bad after the Empire fell. It all fell apart before this could happen (this is a great article if you want to know more). He has a cool helmet, cloak and staff weapon. He’s a master geneticist known to make violent creatures. Because of his previous history, he comes across as a wild card and nobody knows what will happen next with him. I’m certain he’ll make a comeback in the comics after his “death.”

Young Count Dooku
Dude, it’s a young Christopher Lee. A young Christopher Lee puts you in mind of the Hammer Horror series and WWII-era special forces bad-assery. He can go with or without the beard (although the beard does look better and more recognizable) and has his signature curved lightsaber hilt but with a blue blade.

Elzar Mann (in The High Republic Armor)
The next two Jedi are integral to both the Order 100 years ago and to The High Republic storyline! The armor I’m referring to is the one they wear in the final book to bring the Nameless to their home world and not go nuts in the process. It’s High Republic enough looking but is similar enough to the armor the Jedi Temple Guards wear towards the end of the Order. Obviously, each figure would come with their own unique lightsaber and removable helmet.

Avar Kriss (in The High Republic Armor)
Same as above, but I hope this isn’t the last Avar Kriss figure we get! She’s such a great addition to the lore and has many adventures outside Coruscant and the Jedi Order.

Porter Engle (The High Republic)
Hands down my favorite new Jedi from The High Republic, especially the lean mean fighting machine. Known as the “Blade of Bardotta,” he was the Jedi Order’s master swordsman at this exalted time, often using the Force to control a second lightsaber. Must include his kitchen implements.

Good Morning Coruscant” hosts Moffi and Toffi (2 pack) (Andor)
C’mon, they were in Andor for 10 seconds, proving that even the galaxy needs their fluff TV in the morning!

Tava Ren (Kylo Ren comic series)
She took over the Knights of Ren after Kylo abandoned them for the First Order. She’s got to have that helmet, puffy pants and a lightsaber. With the helmet off, you’ve got to be able to see the unique tattoo on her neck as well as red hair.

Sanna Stanos
Dressed in black and green with a lot of guns! She posed as Han Solo’s wife, linking her to the original trilogy and is involved in both the past and present to Doctor Aphra. It would be fun to have another bad ass woman soldier\bounty hunter/scoundrel in the collection.

Magna Tolvan (Imperial uniform)
Another one of Doctor Aphra’s exes/presents! She has such a unique look as an Imperial, a cyborg in a uniform, with an attitude and weapons to match!

Captain Bombardier (The Mandalorian)
Honestly, who doesn’t want Jack Black in their Star Wars collection? He just needs a croquet mallet and funky Imperial jewelry. Oddly enough, I want to see a mail-in offer for Lizzo as his wife the Duchess and she sings Truth Hurts through a The Phantom Menace-era Comtech chip.

Come back next week for the third and final part of our The Black Series Wishlist.

Michael Davis
Michael Davis
Michael F. Davis became obsessed with Star Wars after repeated viewings of The Empire Strikes Back on VHS and a 1983 viewing of Return of the Jedi in movie theaters. He also saw all the Special Editions in the theater, bought all the Shadows of the Empire tie-ins, and even took a bus trip to Maine to see The Phantom Menace. He is currently employed as a Librarian in the US but has always has his sights on a galaxy far, far, away….
