Recent years have seen the passing of many of our original trilogy heroes. Kenny Baker, Carrie Fisher, Peter Mayhew, Jeremy Bulloch and Dave Prowse all left us, and while nothing can ever replace them, owning a piece from their personal collection can remind us of why they were so important to many of our childhoods. Auctioneum (formerly East Bristol Auctions) bring us news of the final auction of items from the estates of Jeremy Bulloch and Dave Prowse, with many familiar and evocative items going under the hammer. The auction takes place Friday 24th May, starting at 10.00am.

An auction of Star Wars memorabilia in Bristol is expected to fetch thousands, with items being sold from the estates of two of the franchises most beloved actors. Bristol-born Dave Prowse who played Darth Vader and actor Jeremy Bulloch who portrayed Boba Fett in the original trilogy both passed away in 2020. Now bidders have a chance to get their hands on items from their personal collections.

Auctioneum Ltd in Bristol have previously sold items from both actors’ estates, but are now offering collectors the final chance to obtain items. Auctioneer Andrew Stowe says ‘Both actors had remarkable collections from their travels around the world – and they weren’t small collections either! Both gentlemen had amassed thousands of items and this sale is really the final chance to secure something special.’

For fans of Boba Fett, bidders from around the world are expected to bid high for a rare comic book that features the first ever appearance of the character. ‘Issue fourty-two of Marvel’s ‘Star Wars’ Comic Book from 1981 are rather sought after,’ adds Andrew ‘but to have Jeremy Bulloch’s own copy up for grabs takes it to a whole other level. It makes it unique!’ The comic book carries a pre-auction estimate of £400-600. Over one hundred and fifty other items from Jeremy’s collection, including special action figures, photographs and artwork given to him by fans are among the other items going under the hammer on May 24th.

Darth Vader fans are also well catered for, with over fifty special lots from the estate of Dave Prowse available. ‘Dave Prowse was born in Bristol,’ says Andrew ‘and when we first sold items from his estate in 2021 I think the whole world turned up to bid! It was the most amazing experience and a real honour. Having the most famous villain in all of cinema history born in our city is just wonderful.’ The final lots from his estate include original Darth Vader book illustrations, original promotional clips from Star Wars that he was allowed to keep after filming, and an original poster from his other revered role as the Green Cross Man from the iconic Green Cross Code public information films of the seventies.

‘Star Wars is so well loved,’ adds Andrew ‘and for us to be able to offer these items to collectors is a real privilege. Both Dave and Jeremy really valued their fans and gave so much to the Star Wars community during their lifetimes. It is terribly sad that both actors are no longer with us, but their legend lives on through these wonderful items.’

The special Star Wars auction takes place on Friday May 24th from 10am, and the full catalogue can be viewed on the companies’ website www.auctioneum.co.uk
