Fan Expo Chicago takes place at the Donald E. Chicago’s original comic con, FAN EXPO Chicago, marks Star Wars Day today with the exciting announcement that Mark Hamill, who portrayed Luke Skywalker in the STAR WARS universe, is set to appear at this year’s show, running August 16 – 18, 2024 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Fans will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get to know this fandom legend during this rare appearance, ask questions, and hear stories at his panel, Mark Hamill Live, and can meet their hero at autograph sessions and photo opportunities throughout the weekend. Mark Hamill’s acting career jumped into hyperdrive with the 1977 release of STAR WARS, playing iconic hero Luke Skywalker in George Lucas’s genre-redefining epic. The film and its two sequels, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK and RETURN OF THE JEDI, became an integral part of American culture for decades. Hamill nurtured a talent for voice acting, starring in animated series including BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, SUPERMAN, and THE REAL ADVENTURES OF JOHNNY QUEST, before reprising his role as Skywalker in STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS in 2014, followed by STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI in 2017.
Fans will also have the opportunity to meet and get autographs and photographs with additional STAR WARS universe actors, including Diana Lee Inosanto (AHSOKA and THE MANDALORIAN) Chewbacca himself, Joonas Suotamo, and Gina Carano (THE MANDALORIAN) who join previously announced guests Eman Esfandi (AHSOKA) and Alan Tudyk (ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY).
