He’s been an icon to us in our very own galaxy far, far away for almost half a century, and while the rest of the world knows full well who Mark Hamill is, he’s about to be presented with another award, CinemaCon’s Icon Award which he’ll be given tonight at Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

The Star Wars star and veteran actor will accept the shine during Thursday night’s ceremony inside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. It arrives during what will be a busy 2025 for Hamill who has three films out this year. He will soon appear in Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of The Long Walk, the first-written novel by legendary scribe Stephen King, from Lionsgate. He then has a turn opposite Tom Hiddleston in Neon’s The Life of Chuck, which won the TIFF Audience Award in 2024, followed by a role as the Flying Dutchman in Paramount’s The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepants.

Hamill is best known for starring as Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. His other credits include The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Kingsman: The Secret Service, The Machine, Brigsby Bear, The Wild Robot, The Boy and the Heron, Batman: The Animated Series and the video game Arkham City.
