Great news as the actor behind Jar Jar Binks and Kelleran Beq and an ILM legend (and the guy who came up with the idea for Rogue One) are heading to Japan for Star Wars Celebration on 18th – 20th April 2025. Ahmed Best and John Knoll will be there for all three days for autographs, photoshoots and perhaps some panels too.

Best’s motion capture and voice performance first helped bring Jar Jar to life for Star Wars: The Phantom Menace more than 25 years ago. In the years since, he’s played the character in every prequel film, voiced Binks in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and mostly recently put a new twist on the character as Darth Jar Jar in LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy. But fans will also recognize his face as the esteemed Jedi who rescued a young Grogu from Order 66 in Season 3 episode of The Mandalorian.

Plus, Academy Award-winning visual effects supervisor John Knoll will be on hand to share his nearly four decades of experience at Industrial Light & Magic.

Knoll, who also co-created Photoshop, has served as the visual effects supervisor on several Star Wars films and series including Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, The Mandalorian, and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew.

Ahmed and John join a growing roster of guests coming to the Makuhari Messe, and be sure to get your orders in for exclusive event merchandise.
