D23 is here and information is flying at us faster than a trip through the Hoth asteroid belt with all sensors down, and following on from our article yesterday looking at possible costs for staying in what was simply known as the Star Wars hotel – now properly named Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser – we get more information about this luxury trip to the stars.

If you’ve ever wanted to vacay in a galaxy far, far away, your wish is about to come true! The all-new Star Wars vacation experience coming to the Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, invites guests to embark on a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship.

During this first-of-its-kind vacation experience, you’ll interact with characters and become an active participant in immersive stories that unfold over the course of an unforgettable galactic journey on board the starcruiser (to be called the Halcyon). D23 Expo guests can see a new model and stunning visuals of the Halcyon throughout the weekend in the “Imagining Tomorrow, Today” pavilion.

Halcyon days indeed. Matt Martin also posted his thoughts about the announcement.

Consider us told. We’ll bring all the news we can concerning the pride of the Chandrila Star Line fleet as we get it.

In the meantime, check out these images from Star Wars #24, from WAY back in February 1979. The issue was the first of many written by the legendary Marvel writer Mary Jo Duffy, and featured Ben Kenobi in a solo adventure that may now seem somewhat familiar.
