We conclude our countdown to Celebration Japan with our weekly series focusing on the different planning aspects of such a big trip.
And so…
Nearly two since Celebration Japan 2025 was announced in London at the end of the last Celebration, we come down to this. It’s been just under eleven months since the tickets went of sale, and it seems both surreal, daunting – it’s like I’m a five-year-old on Christmas Eve.
You’ve thought long about it, you’ve saved, you’ve planned, you’ve worried, maybe stressed a little, had second thoughts, sleepless nights with excitement and, as of today, we’re just a couple of weeks away from the adventure of a lifetime.
If you’re like me, the butterflies of excitement are really starting to come. This trip is two-fold. You have the excitement for Celebration but also to be experiencing a country and a culture unlike anything most of us have ever seen.
Here’s a last few minute things to keep in mind before we head out.
Travel Insurance
If you don’t have any, GET SOME. It doesn’t have to cost the earth but could be the most invaluable purchase you make. You can get annual cover too if you’re going away after Japan for your summer holidays.
Move Luggage Around
If you’re heading over to Japan for a couple of weeks, then it might be a good idea to look into a luggage transport service. This is where, perhaps, you’re heading to Kyoto for a couple of days and will be then going to Tokyo. You can pay a fee to your hotel or service provider and get your luggage shipped from one hotel to another.
Stay in the Loop
Stay up to date within the Facebook groups about social meets ups and after parties. Everyone is very friendly and will happily answer any questions you might have.
Cash is King with a Fee
Japan is very, very cash based so be sure to take enough that you need and remember that if you draw cash out from any ATM in Japan then you’ll be charged a fee – around 4% seems to be the going rate.
Fantha Tracks will be LIVE on Sunday
Fantha Tracks will be presenting a panel on the Holonet News Stage at 9.30am on Sunday 20th April and will be joined by very, very special guest Kyriana Kratter who played KB in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. It’ll be a blast, and it would be fantastic to see you there. No Reservations Required!
You’ve done the hard work, now enjoy
You’ve planned and booked and done all you need to do. So, enjoy it. To borrow a quote from a kid who skipped school back in the 80s for a famous day off – “Life moves pretty fast. If don’t stop once look around once in a while, you might miss it.”
As always, Fantha Tracks will be on hand to cover the event from start to finish and any surprises that might come our way.
It’s been 3 months of this series, and the time has flown by. Thanks for reading and I wish everyone a very safe journey to the land of rising sun and a fantastic time.
I hope it’s everyone you want it to be.
May the Force be with you.
