She inhabitted one of the most popular of all Star Wars characters in Rey, and we watched her journey from being a lonely scavenger on Jakku to travelling the galaxy and making firm friends in the Resistance, but imagine history had been slightly different and as well as her galactic adventures she made a different bunch of friends. Here, Daisy Ridley talks about the role of a lifetime that she missed out on in The Inbetweeners 2.

You were originally in The Inbetweeners 2.

Oh, yeah!

It’s always ‘unspecified role’ – can you please tell me what your role was?

Okay. What I did in The Inbetweeners 2 was… I opened a door to a party, where the boys were going. Then, they changed the scene and I couldn’t go back. Actually, I was friends with the actress who ended up doing it. I was like, ‘This is so cool!’ It was funny, it would have been amazing to be in the finished thing, but I was still part of it. But yes, I was the person who opened the door to a party… but that was that role.

Incidentally, gutted that Felicity Jones didn’t go for the role, purely so we could have used the headline The Jynbetweeners…
