Fantha Trackers were lucky enough to be invited to the ASSERT National Biennial Conference 2018 last night in Coventry, where we were thrilled to hand over a cheque for £445.00, raised over the past two weekends in the Star Wars Fandom Zone at London Film and Comic Con and Fantha Day 3, the first day of Farthest From Weekend last week.
For those that don’t know, ASSERT is the Angelman Syndrome charity, a rare genetic condition first identified in 1965 by a British doctor, Harry Angelman. The patron of ASSERT is Rogue One director Gareth Edwards, our guest on the first two episodes of Making Tracks. Huge thanks to Lisa Court from ASSERT for her assistance, the team at Showmasters for involving Fantha Tracks in the Star Wars Fandom Zone (part of the most successful LFCC so far), my co-host on Making Tracks Dave Tree for making us a part of the hugely popular Farthest From event and the Fantha Tracks team for running carnival games at both shows and selling signed Gareth Edwards photographs, books and posters. We will be raising funds for ASSERT right through to 2019 and Celebration Chicago where we have something special planned, so stay tuned.
