Acting with Phoebe Waller-Bridge persuaded Woody Harrelson to appear in Solo

Imagine Solo: A Star Wars Story without Woody Harrelson in the pivotal role of Tobis Beckett. It would still rock, but his performance as the character who’s learning tree Han stood under gave so much to the overall story of Han’s development, it simply wouldn’t be the same. According to the Radio Times, it appears that Harrelson almost said no to the role of Han’s mentor until he learned who one of his co-stars would be.

“I was really debating doing this film and, in fact, I actually turned it down at first because I had been on such a long string of work and I just wanted to be home with my family.”

And taking the role meant he got to know Phoebe Waller-Bridge better.

“Thankfully I ended up doing it because I now can’t imagine not knowing Phoebe.”

She is just such a delightful, fun and uplifting friend.

A friend of mine told me about Fleabag and I watched it all. I love it. Love it! There aren’t many episodes and I wish there were more. Luckily she is doing another season.”
