All that talk 2 years ago regarding the death of the Rogue One characters sure seems premature now as the build up continues to the Rogue One prequel series on Disney+ starring Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor. Of course, pretty much every new character introduced in Rogue One, be they hero or villain, perished in that heroic mission to steal the Death Star plans, but the series will allow many of them to return and give us a look at how they got to the places they were when we first met them.

One of the most anticipated first meetings is between K-2SO and Cassian, and K-2 performer Alan Tudyk, speaking to Comic Book, believes we may we get to see the dry-witted droid in the series.

“It’s a prequel, so it is a prequel. I love those guys, I do. I love those guys. Diego Luna is one of my favorite people on the planet.

I know what they’re doing, and it’s very exciting. We talked about it.”

Promising words, and while far from a solid confirmation – Celebration Chicago could well be the right forum for that reveal – Tudyk confirms that they’ve been talking, and after returning as K-2 in Secrets of the Empire there’s good reason to think that he’ll be back for the show which, if it’s anything like The Mandalorian which wrapped a few days ago, will run to 8 episodes.
