Celebrity Stormtroopers? You’d better believe it

The current era of Star Wars has something of a track record for celebrity cameos – albeit usually hidden by a Stormtrooper helmet, unless you’re Gareth Edwards – and The Rise of Skywalker is no exception. Our friends over at Making Star Wars have uncovered the identity of three such celebrities.

Today two sources expressed to me that English singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran will be playing a Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. In addition to Ed Sheeran, English chef and restaurateur Jaime Oliver is also said to have a role as a Stormtrooper in the what is the same sequence as Sheeran. Their scenes appear to take place on the snow planet where they play standard white First Order Stormtroopers (instead of Snowtroopers which populate the area for the most part). In addition to what may seem obvious now that he hosted Star Wars: Celebration and discussed visiting the set, the same sources also said that Stephen Colbert plays a Stormtrooper as well.
