News reaches us of a new Star Wars music project which launched on 4th October via Bandcamp. Lifelong Star Wars fan and musician Mark Rolfe has created Ambient Star Wars Volume 1, a collection of eight themes from a galaxy far, far away including Leia’s Theme, Across the Stars, Yoda & the Younglings (which should be a band name!) and The Throne Room, all rendered in a relaxing ‘chillout’ style  reminiscent of some of the music from Andor.

In addition to being a great way to unwind, Mark is donating 50% of the profits to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Trust, a worthy cause close to the hearts of several UK fundraising groups. The digital download costs £6.00 and a limited edition CD costs £8.00 (which also includes the digital tracks) and is available now from Bandcamp. This promises to be the first of a trilogy of such releases, so why not get in early and support Mark and the charity by picking up a copy for you or the Star Wars fan in your life!

We’re also going to be featuring Mark and his music on future episodes of our music-based podcast, Desert Planet Discs so keep your ears open for more on that. In the meantime, listen to our latest episode below.
