“Closed for the night, thank you!”: Absolute cinema as Martin Scosese joins the GFFA

It’s a moment you might be forgiven for believing would never happen, even with his decades long association with George Lucas and membership of the Movie Brats, but….Martin Scorsese has joined the galaxy far, far away as the voice of the white-whiskered, multi-limbed Ardennian who closes the shutters on Din Djarin after he asks for the whereabouts of a Hutt in the new trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Eagle-eyed Aurebesh readers might have spotted that the food sign stand says ‘HUGO’s’, possibly referring to the 2011 film directed by Scorsese, a sweet easter egg. We believe the trailer should have been called ‘Shutters Island’, but either way, it’s absolute cinema.
