It’s been long-discussed and by all accounts is currently on hold, but that doesn’t stop people asking Ewan McGregor about a potential return as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a future standalone film.

Speaking on The View, Ewan made it clear that he’s more than ready to return to the GFFA for a solo Kenobi film.

The actor was appearing on US panel show The View in support of new movie Christopher Robin when he was probed on whether or not he’s heading back to a galaxy far, far away.

“I would totally do it, of course,” he enthused.

Alas, he insisted that there are still no plans set in stone.

“There’s no plans as such to do it, as far as I know,” he admitted.

“I’ve been asked this question for years and years. I’d be happy to do it.

“There must be a good story to tell as they’re doing spin-offs – there’s likely to be a good Obi-Wan between me and Alec Guinness.

“I’ve answered ‘yes’ so many times it looks like I’m touting for work!”

Good news then that once Episode IX and the live action series are set and underway, this generations Obi-Wan Kenobi is prepared for a return to action.
