Take a first look at our very own Daisy Ridley in Ophelia, opposite Naomi Watts and directed by Claire McCarthy.

The film sees Ophelia reimagined as a hero instead of a victim and speaking to Entertainment Weekly, director McCarthy explained the value in that character change.

“We wanted her to feel a lot more empowered and a lot more visceral than the original Ophelia, who is really only in a handful of scenes. There’s real currency in the fact that Ophelia was the victim, and now she’s been recast as the hero.”
