Gareth Edwards’ ‘Monsters’ to become a TV series

The Sci-Fi Horror film that spawned, Rogue One’s, Gareth Edwards film career is being evolved into a TV series.  The wonderful ‘Monsters’ is being developed for Channel 4 in the UK.

Empire reports:

Vertigo Films (which released the original film in some countries) is working with Channel 4 on the series, which has yet to announce any plot details, but is likely to focus once more on humanity’s dealings with alien creatures living in “infected zones” across the US and elsewhere.

Top Boy‘s Ronan Bennett has been hired to develop the series and run it should the channel decide to commission it, working alongside writers Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith. Edwards is also likely to be involved in some capacity, even if it’s only offering guidance.
