Harrison Ford and the runway of doom

While Han Solo was without doubt one of the best pilots in the galaxy, when it comes to flying it appears Harrison Ford has more in common with his other great cinematic character Indiana Jones.

Ford has once again hit the headlines in the wrong way in an incident that was described by the Federal Aviation Administration as “never any danger of a collision.” Thank goodness, but in his 20 years of piloting Ford has been in a number of near-misses and crashes. A 1999 helicopter crash that he was fortunate to walk away from was followed 16 years later by a crash landing on a Californian golf course and in 2017 arguably the most dangerous, landing his plane on the taxiway rather than the runway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County.

Let’s hope he’s a cat with 9 lives and he still has a few to go.
