The 82nd annual Golden Globe nominations were announced today, and eagle-eyed viewers will have spotted a handful of GFFA names in those nominations, including two stars from the original and prequel trilogies. Harrison Ford gets a nomination in the Best Male Actor in a Supporting Role on Television category for his role in Shrinking, alongside Andor co-stars Diego Luna in La Maquina and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in The Bear. Donald Glover (Lando in Solo: A Star Wars Story) is nominated in the Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Series category for Mr & Mrs Smith, while Ewan McGregor is given the nod in the Best Make Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology Series or A Motion Picture Made For television for his role in A Gentleman In Moscow. Don’t forget Daniel Craig (FN-1824 in The Force Awakens), nominated in the Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture category for Queer.
Felicity Jones (Jyn Erso in Rogue One), is nominated in the Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture category for The Brutalist, while Kiera Knightly (Sabé in The Phantom Menace) and Keri Russell (Zori Bliss in The Rise of Skywalker) are both nominated in the Best Female Actor in a Television Series for Black Doves and The Diplomat respectively,
Meanwhile, the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement category will be strongly fought, with Alien: Romulus (ILM and Skywalker Sound), Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (Neal Scanlan’s Creature Shop, Nick Kellington and Brian Herring amongst many others), Deadpool and Wolverine (ILM and Skywalker Sound), Gladiator II (ILM and Skywalker Sound), Inside Out 2 (Skywalker Sound), Twisters (ILM and Skywalker Sound), Wicked (ILM and Skywalker Sound) and The Wild Robot (Lupita Nyong’o, Mark Hamill, Pedro Pascal and Skywalker Sound) all containing numerous Lucasfilm and GFFA connections.
