My latest article over at The Metro takes a look at General Leia and why the events of The Last Jedi are so important to her character.

As The Last Jedi fast approaches, fans across the globe eagerly await answers to the many questions that 2015’s The Force Awakens raised. One of those questions is how will General Leia react to the events of that film?

Her ex-husband Han Solo is dead, slain by their child Ben Solo, now better known as Kylo Ren. Leia sent Han to find their son and bring him home, which led to Han’s murder. How will Leia deal with that loss? Her former love and the father of her only child – as far as we know.
