The Silver Screen Podcast celebrates its 100th episode with a very special Star Wars focused episode, looking back at A New Hope and the growth of Star Wars, and among the many guests on this episode (including the legendary Roger Christian) is Mark Newbold, who you can hear at the 1hr4m13s mark.

EPISODE 100!!! – “General Kenobi. Years ago you served my father in the Clone Wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle against the Empire. I regret that I am unable to present my father’s request to you in person, but my ship has fallen under attack, and l’m afraid my mission to bring you to Alderaan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the Rebellion into the memory systems of this R2 unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely delivered to him on Alderaan. This is our most desperate hour. Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.”

Get ready for a celebration in a galaxy not so far away! For the big 100th episode of the Silver Screen Podcast, Mike and D.K. are going all-out with one of the most legendary cinematic icons of all time. We had to pick a big movie to celebrate this milestone. Something that fits all three of our Silver Screen shows. A cinematic and cult classic, which also has massive mainstream popularity. Some may call it “Episode 4”, or “A New Hope”, but to us it will always be simply “Star Wars”.

Join us as we dive into the magic of George Lucas’ epic space opera with a star-studded crew of contributors chiming in on everything from the Force to the Falcon. Plus, we’re thrilled to feature an exclusive chat with production design legend Roger Christian—the visionary who created the first lightsaber, the Millennium Falcon cockpit, and more.

From classic characters to groundbreaking special effects, this 100th episode extravaganza has it all. Don’t miss our biggest episode yet as we celebrate the movie that launched a universe!

This special crossover episode also serves as D.K’s Cult Classics Episode 29, and Cinema Classics Number 11.
