BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.
Official summary: A surprising first stop marks the beginning of an unexpected journey.
Trivia
The droid introduces himself as SM-33, a play on the name of Smee, the first mate of Captain Hook in the Peter Pan stories.
SM-33 does not recognize At Attin, and suggests alternatives like Atollon (where Hera and Phoenix Cell had their base in Rebels), Al Alcor (a new world) and Aldhani (from Andor). His description of a sulphurous bog world doesn’t seem to match what we saw in Andor.
One of the skeletons they find is stabbed through the chest, just like One-Eyed Willy was in Goonies. Every other item they find is reminiscent of typical pirate items.
Port Borgo is a very deep-cut reference as it appeared as Borgo Prime, a starport built inside an asteroid, in the 1995 novel Young Jedi Knights: Shadow Academy.
Ships seen docked at Port Borgo include the pirate ship from the opening of the first episode, this time showing the top having stripes similar to Pirate King Gorian Shard’s ship. And we also see Hondo Ohnaka’s ship the Katooni parked.
That wee ferryman is a Teek, from Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. He was brought to life as a practical puppet.
Alien ssecies spotted at Port Borgo: Grindalid, Quarren, a warthog, Ishi Tib, Britarro, Dybrinthe, Askajian, Shydopp, Aqualish, Kyuzo amongst others.
The dance club sign reads DANCE CL82.
The Theelin woman in front of the club, who later helps/tries to kidnap Fern and KB, is identified as Melna in the end credits, portrayed by Paloma Garcia-Lee.
The creature in the cage that later escapes is Fuzzball, an easter egg to the Francis Ford Coppola directed Disneyland 3D adventure Captain EO, starring Michael Jackson.
The pink-skinned alien selling the weapon drones is of an unknown species but was named in the end credits: Tuut Orial, played by Alan Resnick.
The alien behind the bar of the restaurant is new. The other customer is an Onodone.
And with kriffing we have another well-known classic Star Wars curse returning. It first appeared in Timothy Zahn’s Vision Of The Future.
The tattoo droid is an 8D smelter droid, and the client is a Klatooinian.
When the kids are thrown into jail, faintly in the background you hear some whistling. This is the same whistling sound effect heard on the Disney ride Pirates of the Caribbean, when pirates in a jail cell whistle at the dog with the keys to come closer.
The name of the rat is not said in the episode, but is Snowball. An article on the official website mentions it.
So how did Jod Na Nawood come to be a prisoner? Considering that Jude Law was the first credited name for Episode 1 despite not seemingly having appeared, it makes us think that he very well may be actually Captain Silvo. There was nobody mentioned, not even a double or a performance artist for Captain Silvo in the end credits.
The Force Theme notes are playing when the key floats over to Jod.
