Get this date in your diary; Friday 30th April 2027, as that’s the day A New Hope (aka TFFKASW) will return to cinemas just in time for May the 4th, hitting screens for a limited time and bringing half a century of magic back to big screens everywhere. No idea whether it’s the post Special Edition era version, or the one screened at the BFI in April, but either way with Celebration Los Angeles taking place on 1st – 4th April, and Star Wars returning on the 30th, April and May 2027 really will be the months of Star Wars.

On April 30th, 2027, we’ll celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars with a re-release of the 1977 classic back for a limited time, in theaters everywhere.

Part of Lucasfilm’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, Star Wars: A New Hope will play in theaters over the May the 4th holiday, also known as Star Wars Day.

We’ll be celebrating the ever-living heck out of Star Wars 50 here on Fantha Tracks, with Tuesday 25th May 2027 bringing brand new celebratory episodes of ALL our podcasts, some very special guests, a live episode of Good Morning Tatooine and much more besides.
